In the microscopic world of machinery, there is a component that may seem insignificant, yet it plays a crucial role in the operation of various devices. This component is the bearing. As a key component for supporting the shaft, the bearing not only guides the rotation of the shaft but also bears and distributes the load, resembling the "joints" of the mechanical system, silently propelling the giant wheels of modern industry forward. 
The working principle and types of bearings 
Bearings are mainly divided into rolling bearings and sliding bearings. Rolling bearings use rolling elements (such as balls and rollers) to roll between the inner and outer rings, converting sliding friction between the shaft and the shaft seat into rolling friction, significantly reducing friction loss. Sliding bearings operate under sliding friction conditions, using an oil film to separate the shaft neck from the bearing bush, achieving smooth and low-noise operation. Sliding bearings are suitable for low-speed heavy-load or difficult-to-maintain working conditions, while rolling bearings, due to their efficiency, standardization, and ease of maintenance, are more widely used in modern machinery. 
Rolling bearings can be further classified into various types. Deep groove ball bearings have a simple structure and low friction, capable of simultaneously bearing radial and certain axial loads, commonly found in motors, automotive gearboxes, etc.; tapered roller bearings can withstand large radial and unidirectional axial loads, often used in car wheels, machine tool spindles, etc.; self-aligning ball bearings and self-aligning roller bearings have the function of automatic alignment, capable of adapting to shaft deflection and eccentricity, suitable for multi-point shafts or less rigid shaft systems. In addition, there are cylindrical roller bearings, needle bearings, thrust ball bearings, etc., each with unique structures and performance characteristics, meeting the diverse needs of different machinery.
