Choice of bearing class P4 and P5: Which is better?

When selecting bearing grades, P4 and P5 bearings have significant differences in dimensional precision, rotational precision and surface quality.

The dimensional and rotational precision of P4 bearings meet ISO tolerance Class 4, which is more stringent in terms of dimensional requirements, rotational accuracy, and surface shape and surface quality than P5 bearings.

Specifically, the size deviation of P4 bearing (such as inside diameter, outside diameter, ellipse, etc.) requirements are smaller, and the rotation accuracy (such as internal radial runout, outside diameter runout, end-facing raceway runout, etc.) requirements are more stringent, as well as the requirements in terms of surface roughness, circular deviation, groove deviation, etc. Therefore, if higher accuracy and performance are required, P5 class bearings are a better choice.
