In an automobile engine, how do deep groove ball bearings function?

The operating conditions of automotive engines are complex, and deep groove ball bearings need to operate under high speed, high temperature and high load. I will combine the working principle of the engine and from the perspectives of reducing friction and supporting components, explain the specific functions of deep groove ball bearings.
When the car engine is running, the internal components are in a state of high speed, high temperature and complex stress. Deep groove ball bearings play an indispensable role in this process. In the crankshaft system, deep groove ball bearings closely cooperate with the crankshaft to provide stable support. After the engine is ignited, the piston moves back and forth in the cylinder, and the power is transmitted to the crankshaft through the connecting rod, causing it to rotate at high speed. Thanks to its low-friction design, the deep groove ball bearings minimize the frictional resistance during the rotation of the crankshaft, reducing energy loss and improving fuel economy. At the same time, it can withstand the radial and axial loads transmitted from the piston connecting rod, ensuring that the crankshaft maintains an accurate position and stable rotational accuracy during high-speed operation, with the error controlled within a very small range, guaranteeing the continuity and stability of power output.
In the valve mechanism, deep groove ball bearings are used to support the camshaft. When the engine is operating, the camshaft needs to push the valves open and close at a specific rhythm to ensure the normal intake and exhaust of the engine. The deep groove ball bearings can adapt to the high-speed rotation of the camshaft and withstand the loads generated by the valve spring force and gas pressure, enabling the camshaft to run smoothly and achieving precise opening and closing of the valves, ensuring the intake and exhaust efficiency of the engine and maintaining the good power performance of the engine. In addition, the deep groove ball bearings have excellent sealing and wear resistance. Even in the harsh environment of high temperature and oil contamination inside the engine, they can work stably for a long time, reducing maintenance frequency and extending the overall lifespan of the engine.
